I’ve been part of 2–3 writing groups in Australia, and about 6 different groups in London/UK, as well as NaNoWriMo groups online and in real life. I’ve also studied writing, in a tertiary education context. So, not all that limited, as far as different types of groups go. True in every instance so far, bar my current writing group. Perhaps don’t assume my background before commenting.
