Yep, this article is just a collection of silliness. Not an assault against all men, not even an assault against all American men (since only one is mentioned. Did you find that one to be the worst, and thus your reaction? Because the other things said are not great, and they were all said by Brits/Australians). If you interpret it that way, I think that’s you adding your own concerns to the piece.

As you have included there, I have written about ways men have made me very happy. In particular, my current partner. So, I don’t really see your point. I didn’t need to include that there — Nobody else responding to this piece has taken it as you have. Nobody else has surmised that all Americans are terrible, and I certainly didn’t say that. What I did say was that I have an amazing partner, at the beginning of this piece. I have said plenty of positive things about men, my partner etc, in a whole host of articles, and this piece is just a lighthearted attempt to talk through some of the weirdness of dating. That’s it.
